# NBA Remuneration Portal: Platform Overview and Features
> The NBA Remuneration Portal is the official NBA Lagos platform for lawyers to manage fee compliance, disbursements, and property transaction documentation.
The NBA Remuneration Portal is the official digital platform of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos for lawyers handling property transactions. It enforces NBA-mandated remuneration standards, automates professional fee disbursements to your registered bank account, and provides a centralised workspace for deal management, compliance certificates, and legal documentation — removing the administrative burden from every transaction you handle.

The NBA Remuneration Portal is exclusively available to lawyers and law firms operating under NBA Lagos branches. You must have a valid NBA Enrollment Number (SCN) to register and use the platform.
## What the portal does for you
The portal handles three core areas of every property transaction:
**Fee compliance** — The platform automatically applies the NBA-mandated 10% professional fee to each transaction and calculates the correct administrative processing fee based on the property value. You do not need to manually compute or declare fees.
**Disbursements** — Once a deal is processed and payment is received, your net professional fee is disbursed directly to your linked bank account. You do not need to invoice separately or follow up on payments.
**Documentation** — All deal documents, affidavits, and NBA compliance certificates are stored in one place and available for download at any time.
## NBA fee structure
Understanding how fees are calculated helps you set client expectations accurately before creating a deal.
### Professional fee
The NBA mandates a **10% professional fee** on all property transactions processed through the portal. This fee is calculated on the total transaction value and forms the basis for your remuneration.
### Administrative processing fee
An administrative fee is deducted from the transaction before your professional fee is disbursed. The rate depends on the total property value:

| Up to ₦100,000,000 | 1.0% |
| ₦100,000,001 – ₦700,000,000 | 0.75% |
| Above ₦700,000,000 | 0.5% |
### What you receive
After the administrative fee is deducted, you retain 90% or more of your NBA professional fee. For most transactions, your net payout is between **90% and 95%+** of the 10% professional fee, depending on the property value tier.
For large transactions above ₦700M, the administrative fee drops to 0.5%, meaning you retain a greater share of your professional fee.
## Who can use the portal
The portal is open to all lawyers enrolled with an NBA Lagos branch. You must have:
* A valid NBA Enrollment Number (SCN)
* Membership under one of the NBA Lagos branches (Ikorodu, Ikeja, Lagos, Badagry, Surulere, Eti Osa, Epe, or Others)
* A Nigerian bank account for disbursements
