Creating a property deal on the NBA Remuneration Portal registers a transaction with the Nigerian Bar Association, triggers automatic fee calculation, and routes disbursements to your linked bank account. Before you begin, ensure your profile is fully set up — the portal will prompt you if anything is missing, but completing it in advance makes the process faster.
You must complete KYC verification before creating a deal. This includes selecting your NBA Lagos branch and linking a bank account. If you have not done this yet, follow the Profile and KYC guide first.
Prepare your documents before starting. You will need a sworn affidavit and supporting title documents (such as a Certificate of Occupancy or Deed of Assignment) ready to upload during the process. Having these on hand prevents interruptions mid-submission.

Deal creation walkthrough

Start a new deal

From the dashboard, click Start New Transaction. Alternatively, navigate to the Deals page from the sidebar and click New Deal.

Complete KYC if prompted

If your NBA branch or bank account details are not yet saved, the portal redirects you to the KYC setup screen before proceeding. Select your branch and link your bank account, then return to continue creating the deal. See Profile and KYC for detailed instructions.

Enter property details

Provide the property address, select the transaction type (Residential, Commercial, or Industrial), and enter the total transaction value in Naira. The NBA professional fee is calculated automatically based on this value — you do not need to enter it manually.
The NBA professional fee (10%) and the applicable admin fee are calculated automatically from the transaction value you enter. No manual fee input is required.

Enter party information

Enter the details of all parties involved in the transaction — both the buyer and the seller. Provide full legal names and contact information as they appear on the transaction documents.

Submit valuation information

Provide the property valuation details. This may include the valuation date, the valuer’s credentials, and the assessed value. Accurate valuation information is required before the deal can progress to payment.

Upload required documents

Upload your sworn affidavit and any supporting property documents. Click Upload Document, select the file from your device, and confirm. Documents uploaded at this stage are automatically linked to this deal.Accepted formats include PDF, DOCX, and JPG. Name your files clearly (for example, affidavit-plot-123-lekki.pdf) to make them easy to identify later.

Review and submit

Review all the details you have entered — property information, party details, valuation, and uploaded documents. If everything is correct, click Submit Deal to finalise the submission.

Monitor deal status

After submission, navigate to the Deals page to track your deal. The status updates automatically as the deal is processed.

Understanding deal statuses

Once submitted, your deal moves through the following statuses:
The deal has been submitted and is awaiting initial review. No action is required from you at this stage.
The deal is pending valuation review. Ensure all valuation documents have been uploaded. You may be contacted if additional information is needed.
Valuation has been reviewed and an invoice has been generated. Navigate to the deal and proceed to pay the invoice. See Paying Invoices and Managing Installments for instructions.
Payment has been confirmed and the deal is fully approved. Disbursements will be processed to your linked bank account.
The deal has been cancelled. Contact NBA Lagos support if you believe this is in error.
