KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is required before you can create a property deal on the NBA Remuneration Portal. The verification process links your NBA Lagos membership to your portal account and ensures that all disbursements from completed deals are sent to the correct bank account. Without completing KYC, you will be redirected to the setup screen each time you attempt to start a new deal.

What you need before starting

  • Your NBA Enrollment Number (SCN) — issued when you were called to the Bar and enrolled as a member of the Nigerian Bar Association
  • Your bank account details — the 10-digit account number for the account where you want to receive disbursements

First-time KYC setup

1

Navigate to the KYC setup screen

After logging in, if you have not yet completed KYC, the portal displays a setup prompt. Click the prompt, or navigate directly to the profile setup screen. If you are being redirected from a deal creation flow, the portal takes you there automatically.
2

Select your NBA Lagos branch

From the NBA Lagos Branch dropdown, select the branch you are enrolled under. The available branches are:
  • Ikorodu
  • Ikeja
  • Lagos
  • Badagry
  • Surulere
  • Eti Osa
  • Epe
  • Others
Linking your account to the correct branch ensures that your fees are allocated properly within the NBA Lagos structure. If you are unsure which branch you belong to, check your NBA membership documentation or contact the NBA Lagos Secretariat.
3

Select your bank

Under the Bank Details section, open the bank dropdown and select your bank from the list. The list includes all commercial and microfinance banks supported by the payment system.
4

Enter your account number

Type your 10-digit bank account number in the account number field. Once you have entered all 10 digits, the system automatically looks up and displays your registered account name.
Account name resolution is automatic — you do not need to type your account name. The system retrieves it directly from your bank using the account number and bank you selected. This typically takes a few seconds.
5

Verify the account name

Check that the account name displayed matches the name on your NBA membership record. If the name does not match or appears incorrect, go back and verify that you entered the right account number and selected the correct bank before proceeding.
Enter your account number carefully. All disbursements from completed deals are sent to this account. If an incorrect account number is saved, funds may be sent to the wrong recipient. If you notice an error after saving, update your bank details immediately from Settings (see the section below).
6

Save your profile

Once you have confirmed the account name is correct, click Save. Your NBA branch selection and bank details are saved to your profile. You are now ready to create property deals.

Updating your profile later

If you need to change your bank details, update your branch selection, or edit other profile information after initial setup:
  1. From the sidebar, navigate to Settings.
  2. Locate the section for the details you want to update — Bank Details or NBA Branch.
  3. Make the necessary changes. If updating your bank account, re-enter your account number and verify the resolved account name.
  4. Click Save to apply the changes.
Profile updates take effect immediately. If you update your bank account while a deal is in AWAITING_PAYMENT status, the new account details will be used for the disbursement when that deal completes.
